Desktop

Platform-specific layer for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Provides save-data I/O through IFileSystem using standard System.IO.

Setup

No extra packages or middleware are required for Desktop platfrom - the platform layer uses System.IO directly.

Saves

Game code talks to the cross-platform UPSSaves.Prefs / UPSSaves.Saver APIs (see Manual → Saves). On Desktop, save files land under Application.persistentDataPath/<SavesSettings.ProjectFolderName> and are written through DesktopFileSystem.

Deleting saves in the Editor

To reset the project to a "first launch" state while developing, use Tools → UpscaleSDK → Saves → Delete All Saves. After you confirm the dialog, the command deletes the Application.persistentDataPath/UpscaleSaves folder with every save file DesktopFileSystem has written. If the folder does not exist, the dialog reports that there is nothing to delete.

Warning

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. The command is available in the Unity Editor only and does not affect builds.
